Women Startup Challenge Europe Advisors

Women Who Tech is on a mission to close the funding gap for women-led startups and we’re hiring several part time Women Startup Challenge Europe Advisors in Paris, London, Berlin, Lisbon, Amsterdam, and Milan. We’re disrupting a culture and economy that’s made it very difficult for women entrepreneurs to access capital. We do this by showcasing and funding the best early-stage women-led ventures through our global Women Startup Challenges, which have been cohosted by Google, LinkedIn, Microsoft, Office of the Mayor of London at City Hall, and more. Our next Women Startup Challenge Europe will be held in Paris in October 2018. And we’re seeing big results. We’ve succeeded in enabling more than $25 million raised for women founders.

We are looking for people who are passionate about supporting women-led startups and who are deeply connected to the startup and tech ecosystems in Europe. The ideal candidates should also be comfortable reaching out to women-led startups and encouraging them to apply to pitch investors at the Women Startup Challenge in Paris (where $50K in cash and other prizes will be awarded), and comfortable promoting the program to accelerators and incubators, diverse entrepreneurs, coworking spaces, meetups, and investors to elevate our pool of applicants.

  • Based in Paris, London, Berlin, Lisbon, Amsterdam, or Milan — We will be hiring Advisors from various cities;

  • Immersed in the tech and startup sectors, including incubators and accelerators, coworking spaces, meetups, angel and investor networks, etc.;

  • Ability to network with women-led startups and promote our open call for applications to pitch at the Women Startup Challenge via multiple channels – in person events, social media, Slack groups, email listservs, etc.;

  • Public relations skills;

  • Comfortability with cold calls and emails;

  • Event planning abilities;

  • Ability to work 20-30 hours from June 28th – August 2nd;

  • The Paris Advisor will work with us from June 28th through the end of October for on-the-ground promotion and planning leading up to the Women Startup Challenge in Paris. This Paris position will also require Volunteer management skills.

About Us:

Women Who Tech is a nonprofit led by a small and mighty volunteer team who has been championing women in tech and startups for 10+ years. We have one mission – to close the funding gap and disrupt the culture and the economy that has made it exceedingly difficult for women to launch ventures and raise capital. Less than 10% of investor money goes to women-led startups. For women of color, it’s even lower.

By showcasing women-led ventures through our Women Startup Challenges (in partnership with Craig Newmark of craigslist and Craig Newmark Foundation), we put capital, mentoring, and resources behind women who are creating the most innovative tech companies.

With a pipeline of 2000+ women-led ventures, the Women Startup Challenge provides investors and tech company leaders with direct access to the best early-stage women-led startups. We’ve succeeded in enabling more than $25 million raised for women founders.
